Dr. White is the VP and Chief Medical Officer for BJC Home Care, the Stokes Family Endowed Chair in Palliative and Supportive Care and Chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. He provides clinical oversight to over 650 physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, nurses, and supporting staff at 14 hospitals. He has been published in palliative medicine, critical care, hospice, and oncology journals with an interest in comparative effectiveness research and is a coauthor of one of the most popular books in his field. His work examines ways to optimize symptom management in patients with advanced disease through identifying current practice patterns and conducting clinical trials to identify best practices and enhance quality-of-life. Dr. White resides in St Louis, Missouri with his wife, Libby, and their two children. In his spare time Dr. White enjoys traveling internationally and spending time outdoors with highlights including swimming from Alcatraz, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, chasing Northern lights and catching an 84-inch striped marlin.
